Before the Interview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Inform interview plan to all participants<br \/>\n\u2022 Prepare all interview forms, equipment, book interview room.<br \/>\n\u2022 Determine your options \u2013 which skills are vital as opposed to convenient.<br \/>\n\u2022 If other people are going to be involved in the interview process, make sure they have taken the time to prepare for the interview.<br \/>\n\u2022 Have detailed information about the candidate.<br \/>\n\u2022 Each person should have a couple of overlap questions to provide insight on the prospective employee\u2019s responses.<br \/>\n\u2022 Have company information available for candidates.<br \/>\n\u2022 Allow plenty of time for the interview.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. During the Interview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Interview the person.<br \/>\n\u2022 Tell the candidate what to expect in the hiring process.<br \/>\n\u2022 Tell them your expectations: experience expected, career advancement, training, duties the direction the department is headed in.<br \/>\n\u2022 Show the candidate where they would fit into the organization.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ask questions that are, broad, job-related, objective, meaningful, direct, clear, open-ended, understood &amp; related.<br \/>\n\u2022 Be open and honest with the candidate.<br \/>\n\u2022 Don\u2019t talk money.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Closing the Interview <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Insure that you and the candidate have concluded on common ground.<br \/>\n\u2022 Review the next steps with a clear and honest timetable (and stick to it).<br \/>\n\u2022 Be friendly and honest to the end of the interview; don\u2019t give false encouragement or go into details for rejection.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ask if she\/he has any other questions.<br \/>\n\u2022 At the end of the interview, if you are interested in the candidate, let them know.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.
