Default Notice Period

HI seniors,

Good Morning to all!!!!

I have a query related to Notice Period.

I am working in a IT company as Hr Executive for past 1.5Year (appx.) now i am looking for a change as in my present company and in my present company we have to give Notice period of one month or 15days without pay. I have given interview in many companies and in most of them i get selected but fail to join them as they say to join within 5 working days or within 15days.

Now my question is:-

1. Is right to leave the current job with 5days without informing the current company being an Hr?
2. I have certain Duties towards my company also so, keeping in mind my carrier growth i should leave/dis-continue the current company???( as i am really looking for a change and if i am getting really a good Opportunity)

Am i right in not joining them or I am wrong?? Means How can one as from an Hr of any company to be diloyal to its current company. I am really need a job for my career growth, I clear all my rounds but I lack behind saying that i have one month Notice Period???

Seniors please help me.... in this matter as i need advice on same.

Thank You

Cheers,

Hi Kanth,

Your thinking is right. You must not leave your present Employer without proper notice period or before providing suitable replacement, Handing over- taking over must be done honestly. You must remember that when you were in need this particular Employer has given you opportunity to work & earn, gain knowledge and skills. You should be faithfull to him and must leave your present organisation with Good terms. It may help you a lot in future.
Next point regarding you are getting another good Opportunity is nice . you got to make them understand that you need to provide proper Handover to present company. I am sure this is very reasonable matter and most of them will understand. some may not agree ,but you would surely have great luck with some or other company.

Summary - Please leave your present company with good terms and proper handover with suitable replacement.

Keep smiling.......
Yogita
