Hi friends,

I need to share with you my view about 360 degree Appraisal.

This is the bitter truth of PMS that we speak about 360 degree. We are taught about it.

but the Indian organizations still hasitate to implement it as in INDIA Corporate context due to following reasons:-

1. The organizations are ruled as per heirarchy bases
2. people (subordinates) do not open up about their boss
3. Verteran kind of Managers
4. Power and Politics exists in organization
5. Majorly vertical (Top to Down) communication exists.

I need to know your views about it.

What Col Jude is saying is true to an extent. Its very difficult to take feedback especially from the ones working under you. As a society also ( as in our families/ culture/ upbringing ), Indians find it very difficult to accept that someone younger than them should give advise. We are not very open to this bottom- up approach which reflects in Indian Organisations.

The problem exists at the top - An open and flexible approach at the senior level can change this. A 360 degree system if implimented in its true essence can drastically reduce modern day HR challenges.

But who will bell the CAT!!!
