Lightbulb Use the telephone wisely: get connected and stay connected.

Hi All,

In ma organization in spite of having the policy saying keep your mobile in silent mode and keep your personal calls to minimum.. i found that not even a single person was obeying the policies.. and their ring tone volume was to the fullest.. These kind of activities will distract others for sure.. and i even had complaints from the neighbors of those who had ring tone volume to the fullest .. taut want can b done and just sent a piece of information which you can find below.. you wont believe me i got a very good response!!
So just taut tat i can share wit you'll and ul may find it useful..

The Telephone: Get Connected, Stay Connected
The mobile phone is both a blessing and a bane. Yes, we can now make or receive calls anywhere and any time. Yet, how often we endanger other road users when we talk on the phone while driving! How rudely we behave when we ignore the person across the dinner table from us to converse with somebody miles away. What was meant to help us "stay connected" with people can sometimes alienate us from others.
What then should you do? To begin, respect the people you are with by putting the phone on silent mode when in a office, a public performance, etc. Screen your calls. If you have to answer a call, excuse yourself, leave and find a quiet place to handle that call. That way, you give your caller your full attention and preserve the privacy of the call.
Should you call back missed calls the number of which you are unfamiliar with? Yes, for behind every phone call is a potential new contact, a new business opportunity.
So what if it's a wrong number? By handling the call pleasantly giving the name of the company you represent, you make your company known to the caller and give him a good impression of it - a wise advertising investment.
What about rude or angry callers? Practise empathetic listening. Ask questions to uncover the facts behind the emotion. Take down notes. Spell out names. Read back figures to check for accuracy. Confirm your understanding of the caller's message by summarizing and agree on a follow-up action.
If you are on the move and are unprepared to handle the call, politely explain the situation. Tell the caller how soon he can expect your call back, and keep your promise.
Use the telephone wisely: get connected and stay connected.
Clear speaking is clear thinking!

Dear Prakash,

That's a wonderful piece of instruction/advise to mobile users told in a beautiful way.
There can be various ways to attract somebody's attention, and yours is one of the better ways of doing so. It all calls for ingenuity, doing the same thing in a different way.
Keep up the good work.

Best Wishes & Regards
Murli
