Default Situation on employee issue

Hi Friends,

As my networking with HR is less.So I am sharing my situation with you friends.

Myself Madhuri working as HR-Executive in 1 of the reputed company with 11 months of experience.

I want to share my experience with your suggestions. Please do help me know your suggestions as I am new in handling Employee relations and suggestions.

One female employee one day came suddenly and Said She want to resign from company as she is suffering from severe head ace and admitted in hospital. She is a good candidate as she scored in all certificate exams 98% with excellent remarks.

When I asked about the reason she was replying its because of Team leads. As they are misbehaving and showing partiality and warning her like if
they are any errors in project will complain to Project Manager.

She is pregnant. And there is a force from her family to quit job.

The same think I conveyed to General Manger. He understood the situation and he spoke to her and he gave an opportunity to work under another team lead in other team and whenever she wants to join back company he opened the doors too join at any time. And closed the matter as she is quitting by herself with her family force.

And we continue with exit formalities.

At other end he said he will talk to Team leads and he wants not to repeat the situation back.

Now My questions are:

1. Whats the role of HR ?In this situation as Hr has to communicate all the things whatever employee gave reasons to General Manager.
2. Coming to this situation regarding Misbehaving of male colleagues with female colleagues is it necessary to convey this information to GM.
3. I feel uncomfortable to share this situation with General Manager(Male).
4. Even though I conveyed the things to GM, I am feeling some what uncomfortable sharing this things with GM.

Anticipating a quick reply from you all...

Thanks and Regards
HR-Executive

Dear Friend
U have raise a very good question and i want all females to be aware about
"Sexual Harrasement at Work Place"
There is no legislation on this but Supreme court by using its power under Article 141 of Constitution of India has framed guidelines in the case of Vishakha V/s State of Rajasthan.
It is the obligation of every institution/organisation to aware the female employees of there rights and what is to be considered as sexual harrassement, further every institute must have made panel or committee to deal with such issues.
I hope this may help in ur case too.
Regards
richa
