Question Labour Laws applicable to SEZ's

Can anybody provide informtion regarding what are the labour laws & relevant records & registers to maintain in SEZ's areas. Please furnish the information in details. Kindly help in this issue urgently.

Dear Anuj,

You will have to refer to the special benefits given by the Government to the particular zone. If nothing is mentioned then there will be no difference in applicability of labour and industrial laws.

For example, if it is a factory then all provisions of Factories Act will be applicable along with PF,ESI/WC, Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, Minimum Wages and other relevant statutues.
