Corrective Actions
Hello people,
This is Ayush Gaur, an MBA student currently doing internship in a Carpet Export firm. The firm manufactures carpets to be exported to various countries all across the globe. The firm lacks a proper Corrective Action Scheme for the mistakes that are committed by the employees. Presently the system is to deduct one day salary/one day absence for any mistake committed. This system applies to everyone in the organisation right from workers to Head of the departments. There is a lot of confusion about the mistakes which attract penalty. The firm has various sister concerns and units. A lot of times penalties are awarded to the employee who has not even committed the mistake. For example ,if the carpet has come for binding and has some defect, the binding department is penalised instead of the the department which has manufactured it.
This system has been demoralising employees since its inception.
Kindly advise of some alternate system.
