1 Q: What are the skills required for an HR Generalist position?

2 Q: How do you motivate employees?

3 Q:. What is the most difficult situation you have had to face and how did you handle it?

A: While answering use the word challenging instead of difficult. Show yourself in a positive way by selecting a situation which was not caused by you. Explain the problem and the possible solutions and why did you choose a particular solution. The interviewer wants to find out whether or not you have the ability to handle difficult situations. Explain only in a few sentences and end in a positive way.

4 Q: Why do you want to leave your current job?

A: Do not give negative reasons for this question even if it is right. You can give reasons like you are looking for a new responsibility, experience and new challenge. Also you are looking for a change of environment. These reasons will help you show in a positive light.

5 Q: What are your strengths?

A: A very common question asked by interviewers. This question helps them know you better so you should be prepared with the answer. Mention few strengths which also relate to the job of HR Generalist. Also you can give examples where you have demonstrated these skills in support of your answer.

6 Q: What are your weaknesses?

A: Never say that you don’t have any weakness. No one is perfect and there are weaknesses in every person. You can describe some weaknesses in such a way that can be considered as your strength. Also mention the steps you are taking to overcome your weaknesses.
