I think what you have is not a problem but a challenge.
I personally will advice you to let her be for a while and give her some space to learn and do what she likes. With her behavior you will be able to gauge if she has been the right selection.
I handle a lot of vendor trainers myself; they come from a different psyche as opposed to a full time employee. Allow her to learn what she wants to but do not discuss her personal life at work at all. Everyone has difficult phases in life but they are meant to be left at home and should not affect their work life for such a long time.
I'd say keep a distance from her personal life involvement to not be dragged in to unwanted situations.
