Question PGCHRM from XLRI

Dear All,

I've done my graduation in commerce and have about 6 yrs of experience in recruitment and 1 yr experience in generalist role. I am planning to do a PG in HR from XLRI (Distance learning)

The contents of the course are;

PM & IR Area
Introduction to personnel management
Introduction to industrial relations
Labour laws
Performance appraisal & management
Training & development
Employee compensation system
Collective bargaining
Competency based HR

OB Area;
Individual behavior in organisations
Group behavior in organisation
Organisation change & development
Organisation structure & design
Cross cultural management
Managerial counseling
Strategic human resource management

Other Areas;
Financial management for HRM
Marketing management for HRM
Social research methods
Operations strategy for HRM
Quantitative techniques for HRM
Human resource information system
Project work

Total hours of course work: 400 hrs
On campus: 70 hrs
Off campus: 330 hrs

Cost of the program: 1.8L payable in three equal instalments.

Now, do you all think its a good decision to do a pg course by paying 1.8L. Is it worth the money?

Seniors,
Does this course cover everything i need to know about HR? Will this course equip me to become a good manager?

Thanks very much
